For current students

Everything you need —
between matriculation
and graduation.

Student services, your rights and obligations as a member of the UoM community, healthcare and tutoring, and the offices that exist to make eighteen months of postgraduate study run smoothly.

Start here

Three things to do first.

Apply for an Academic ID

One of the first things to do upon arrival. The Academic ID unlocks discounted student travel, library borrowing, restaurant access and more. Full instructions at uom.gr/en/academic-id.

Sign in to my.uom.gr

The single sign-on student portal — class registration, exam grades, certificates, and contact with the Secretariat. Available at my.uom.gr.

An academic, assigned personally to you, throughout the duration of the MSc.
Personal Tutor

Someone whose job is your trajectory.

A personal tutor will be assigned to each student. The personal tutor is able to provide guidance on academic matters and on questions of prospective employment or further studies.

You should still contact the relevant module instructor for module-specific questions. The personal tutor's role is broader — advising on self-study approaches, on broadening your skills, and on turning the eighteen months of the MSc into a deliberate professional plan.

Healthcare

Coverage, by status.

EU students
Issue a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) in advance of your studies. The EHIC ensures the same access to healthcare as a Greek citizen for the duration of the MSc.
International students
Make your own arrangements for health insurance covering the full duration of your studies. Study in Greece can provide guidance on suitable policies that satisfy Greek visa requirements.
Disability & assessment support
If you require special arrangements during assessments, inform the Secretariat in writing, with documentation translated into English by a certified translator and confirmed by a healthcare professional. The Secretariat will inform module instructors and arrange modified assessments where appropriate, with strict confidentiality.
University services

Offices that exist for you.

Student Rights & Obligations

A two-sided compact.

Students of the MSc have the same rights and obligations as all students of the University of Macedonia.

Your rights include

  • Freedom of opinion, and the right to provide feedback on the quality of teaching and other services.
  • The right to use the institution's facilities and to access social benefits.
  • Representation, and the right to participate in student associations and University activities.
  • The right of request, application, and objection.
  • The right to meet with lecturers and personal tutors, and to receive feedback on your grades.

Your obligations include

  • Being aware of and observing the rules and regulations governing the institution and each of its facilities.
  • Respecting all members of the University community.
  • Maintaining order and cleanliness in areas of the campus, and being mindful of all facilities and equipment.
  • Observing safety rules and refraining from any improper use of University premises.
  • Cooperating with University authorities in preventing illegal activity or actions that may damage the reputation of the University.
Studying abroad can be stressful. Study in Greece exists to make it less so.
Study in Greece

An external partner —
free, official, useful.

Acknowledging that studying abroad can be stressful, the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs created Study in Greece — a free service for international students that can be extremely helpful for international student matters.

It should be your companion throughout your studies. You will find useful information at the website both before your arrival and during your stay, and you can contact Study in Greece with any issues that you may have through the Help Desk facility on the website.
