The MSc is delivered jointly by the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of Macedonia and the Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science (FAMS) at the Cyprus University of Technology — combining complementary strengths from both sides of the Aegean.
Founded in 1948 as the Graduate School of Industrial Studies and reconstituted in 1990, UoM serves a community of around 19,000 students across four Schools and eight Departments. The Department of Accounting and Finance — part of the School of Business Administration — has been teaching the discipline since the Department's foundation in 1990.
Established in 2004 and admitting its first cohort in 2007–2008, CUT is one of the three public universities of the Republic of Cyprus and ranks among the top young universities globally. The FAMS Department, within the Faculty of Management and Economics, brings deep expertise in finance, econometrics, and management science.
The Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science (FAMS) is a dynamic academic unit within the Faculty of Management and Economics, actively contributing to teaching excellence and high-impact research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Established collaborations with the Central Bank of Cyprus, the Cyprus Ministry of Education, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, commercial banks, the Big Four, and many private financial-sector firms — supporting applied research, internships, and knowledge transfer.
The FAMS Department demonstrates strong research activity across complementary domains that flow continuously back into curriculum design and into evidence-based contributions to public policy.
Faculty members hold doctorates from leading institutions including Columbia, Cass / Bayes, Manchester, Cyprus, and Queen Mary, with publications in the Review of Finance, Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and the British Journal of Management among others.
