Biography

Dr Petrou has recently joined the Department as a lecturer. From 2021 to 2025, he was a Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Cyprus, two M.Sc. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in Engineering Mechanics and in Energy & Earth Resources, and a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences from the National Technical University of Athens. His research focuses on empirical market-based accounting and corporate finance, with particular emphasis on the role of information in capital markets.
